The BOP locator mainly supplies textual federal custody and release information, not a dependable mugshot archive. An immigration or federal case also does not become a Caldwell Parish photo record merely because the person once passed through a local jail. Louisiana Mugshot Removal Rules
Louisiana has a specific correction and removal rule for qualifying remove-for-pay publishers. Under Code of Criminal Procedure article 234, a covered publisher must remove and destroy an image within seven calendar days after a supported request when the person was acquitted or not prosecuted, or when the charge was expunged, vacated, or pardoned. The publisher may not charge for that removal. R.S. 14:133.7 separately addresses charging to remove, correct, or modify covered criminal-history information.
These laws do not make a commercial archive the preferred source. They create protections when qualifying publication has already occurred. Keep proof of the disposition, expungement, vacatur, pardon, or nonprosecution and send it to the publisher under the current law. Do not rely on a paid intermediary's summary of eligibility.
An inaccurate official image or booking link should be raised with the originating custodian first. State the error, identify the record, provide the correct documentation, and ask for a written response. The custodian may correct the entry, explain the source record, invoke an exemption, or state that the item is unavailable. That response is more useful than a copied image with no provenance.
Caldwell Parish Expunged Mugshot Records
Louisiana article 972 defines expungement as removing arrest or conviction information, including photographs, fingerprints, disposition, and related information, from public access without destroying the record. Article 973 makes the expunged record confidential subject to listed exceptions. A photo that once appeared publicly may therefore become lawfully unavailable.
Do not reconstruct an expunged, sealed, or protected record from gossip, cached pages, or stale third-party copies. A search gap can reflect lawful confidentiality, not a technical failure. Misdemeanor eligibility has statutory anchors in article 977, while felony and special cases need their own current legal analysis.
